Cloud Application Security Experts in this TalentCloud should be able to manage the overall development and management of public and private cloud security. This TalentCloud requires expertise to oversee technology, controls, processes, and policies of cloud applications to prevent both internal and external cyber threats across platforms and service providers.
Responsibilities
- Work with other cloud application security team members to establish viable and effective solutions to existing organizational and technical issues
- Plan, design, develop and manage cloud applications in line with company security policies
- Provide training and support to internal teams regarding new cloud-based applications
- Adapt and respond quickly to unexpected issues
- Integrate applications, standards, processes, and security tools throughout the infrastructure and network and with vendors and data providers
- Take a proactive approach to problem-solving and solutions
- Design, build, automate, improve and implement cloud-based web services, as well as eliminate extinct and ineffective applications
- Remain current on all industry trends, and make appropriate recommendations to department leads
- Establish security requirements, perform threat simulations and manage internal and external pen testing services
- Integrate practices of threat modeling
- Produce and distribute application security metrics reporting
- Provide security, technology, and best practice recommendations
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Related Field
- Certification in Specialized Cloud Application Security Areas, such as Cloud Security Alliance and (ISC) ²
Required Skills
- Computer scripting and coding language skills, such as Python and Java
- Superior written and verbal communication skills are essential for all cloud application security professionals
- Possesses the ability to develop SaaS and PaaS security solutions along with designing software systems
- Experience with numerous operating systems, web services, and cloud provider ecosystems, such as AWS, Linux, Microsoft, Docker, API, RPC, and more
- Must have project management and organization skills
- Creativity and innovative abilities to solve problems are critical
- Security and business acumen across various platforms and departments

- Risk management experience is beneficial
- Experience influencing decision-makers
- Agile and waterfall process is often necessary
