The sources of such actions, whether deliberate or unintentional, originate from the carelessness of employees, malicious outsiders, policy violations, and others.
Responsibilities
- Gather intel, investigate and report possible threat risks and all incidents
- Analyze incidents and risk areas to establish effective solutions, recovery methodologies and reporting practices
- Perform behavioral analyses on team members and partners through various associate investment monitoring programs
- Utilize the cyber kill-chain during times of intrusion
- Research current threats, criminal actors, and nation-state approaches
- Initiate internal protocols regarding threat assessment and actionable tasks
- Remain in compliance with standard policies, procedures, and the law at all times relating to data analysis, information verification, threat auditing, and software monitoring
- Interview persons of interest using internal resources and investigative techniques
- On-call duties and after-hour support may be necessary
- Document all investigations with great detail
- Manage high-risk data and information through departmental and management collaboration
- Utilize next-gen technology and tools for investigations and behavioral analytic assessments
- Relay updates and amend training practices to all team members regularly and emphasize insider threat awareness
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, or Related Field
- Equivalent Work Experience
Required Skills
- Effective communicator and presenter, both verbally and in writing, to non-technical and technical audiences
- Analytical and investigative skills are highly desirable
- Strong understanding of insider threats, risk management, incident response, and computer forensics
- Ability to conduct interviews professionally and authoritatively is expected
- Comfortable working online and with a geographically dispersed team
- Capable of working with individuals at all levels of and functions within the organization
Preferred Skills
- Complete specialized certifications as related to the role, such as CFCE, GCIH, CFE, SANS, CISSP, and GIAC
- Coding experience is beneficial
